About

Some of Our Clients

PBJ Management is the most exclusive talent agency in the UK. We represent a select group of talented performers, presenters, writers, composers, directors, producers and DJs.

In the beginning...

The bespoke agency was set up in 1987 by Peter Bennett-Jones for his only two clients, the world renowned lighting designer Mark Henderson and a comic actor called Rowan Atkinson.

The first steps...

As he struggled to keep up with this onerous workload, Peter (aka PBJ) subtly recruited Caroline Chignell (aka Chiggy) from his best friend, impresario Andre Ptaszynski (aka Andrew Pkqsnatzzsyi). In acknowledgement of this act of piracy Andre was appointed a non-executive Director of the company and with this crack team of a louche lawyer manqué and super efficient biologist in place, we began to recruit new clients, with a surprising level of success.

The expanding service...

Whilst remaining small and beautifully formed, we started to increase our roster of the very best creative talent working in UK broadcasting and beyond. Whether our clients wanted to act, to write, to direct, to tour, to advertise, to orate, to compose, to present or to take a year off, PBJ Management has always been at the forefront of great opportunities and clever deals. Sister company KBJ Management appeared a few years later. It was set up in 1999 by Joanna Kaye (aka K) and has built up a client base of top presenters, broadcast journalists and specialist communicators. In 2006 JBJ Management was the next to arrive, formed in association with Gilbert Rozon (aka Le Roi) of the legendary Just For Laughs organisation. Headed up by Janette Linden (aka J) its purpose is to identify and develop the very best in new comedic talent, scouring the comedy clubs and pubs of Britain in the noble cause.

Making it happen...

PBJ, Chiggy and J are backed up by a dedicated and experienced team of Assistant Agents who are the primary point of contact. Jo Beasy, Jennifer Rhodes, Rebecca Turner, Karl Schmid, Patrick Bustin, Claire Nightingale and Mary McCallum (aka The BJs). They all play vital roles in ensuring that our clients are given the best service in town. Every enquiry is met with respect, politeness and efficiency, be it the opening of a village fete or the offer of a major movie role. We are very proud of our artists and their achievements.

Footnote: other fingers, other pies...

PBJ is Chairman of Comic Relief and also of leading production company Tiger Aspect, which, like PBJ Management, is housed in Soho Square, surely the epicentre of showbiz! We hope you enjoy reading about our talented team on this PBJ site.
