Alexander Stobbs

Alex has been immersed in music all his life, as a pianist, singer and conductor. He started playing the piano aged 3, before taking up the violin and later the organ. He was a Chorister and later a Choral Scholar in the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, and a Music Scholar at Eton College. It was at Eton where he conducted JS Bach’s Magnifcat for choir and orchestra, in concert - a performance which featured in a 2008 Channel 4 Cutting Edge Documentary, ‘A Boy Called Alex’. This was followed by a second Channel 4 documentary in 2009 (‘A Passion for Life’) where Alex conducted Bach’s St Matthew Passion. Alex suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and is on the waiting list for a double-Lung transplant. In 2016 Alex won a Scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music in London.
