James Gault is a Northern Irish actor, writer and character comedian.

In 2019, his narrative sketch trio Crybabies were nominated for best newcomer at the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards for their debut show Danger Brigade. Their subsequent sell-out show Bagbeard received numerous 5 star reviews (“Dear Lord, did it make me howl with laughter” ★★★★★ Telegraph) and transferred to Soho Theatre’s main space in 2023. The show was also nominated for 2 Chortle Awards (Best Show and Best Character/Variety Act).
James trained as a clown at L’Ecole Philipe Gaulier and has been described as having “a remarkable comedy presence” (Dominic Maxwell, The Times). He has appeared in numerous TV shows including After Life on Netflix and Murder They Hope for UKTV Gold .
With Crybabies, he currently has numerous writing projects in development, including a Radio 4 special produced by Hatrick.
