Mark Dolan is an award-winning broadcaster, writer and comedian.
Having fronted multiple hit shows for Channel 4 including Balls Of Steel, The World’s Most Extraordinary People and Me documentary series, cult hidden camera series The Richard Taylor Interviews and many more, Mark has worked in broadcasting for over two decades.
Mark is also an award-winning stand up comedian, whose career began when he reached the final of C4’s So You Think You’re Funny in 2000. Since then Mark has performed stand-up all over the world and at multiple comedy festivals, including ten stints at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Mark launched E4 as the host of Show Me The Funny and he also launched More 4, as the host of The Last Word, the first live daily show to appear on that network.
Mark has hosted Urban Legends, The Funny Thing About… and The Saturday Show for C5, The Mad Bad Ad Show for C4, as well as the Sky Movies flagship movie show 35mm for five years.
Putting his Masters degree in Politics to good use, Mark is a regular political pundit on All Out Politics and Sunrise on Sky News. And he recently surprised the nation with his deep knowledge of Sir Elton John when appearing on Celebrity Mastermind. Eleven correct answers and no passes. You’re welcome.
Not afraid of a little tea-time entertainment, Mark also participated in Kirstie’s All Star Stitch Up, Let’s Dance For Comic Relief and he prevailed over a very competitive Shaun Ryder to win Celebrity Come Dine With Me. He is taking that culinary expertise into his new web series Mark Dolan’s Tasty World, which is currently in production. Mark also survived a hair-raising stint on the most recent series of C4’s The Jump.
Mark is also a highly in demand event host and after dinner speaker, and his bestselling non-fiction book – The World’s Most Extraordinary People and Me – was published by Harper Collins and is available in all good book stores.
Mark has just created a brand new comedy panel show format called Asking For A Friend, based upon his hit stand-up show of the same name. The show currently airs on Union Jack Radio, a national DAB radio station dedicated to comedy. Season two has just been commissioned and the show is also being developed for television.
Mark is currently broadcasting to the nation as the brand new host of the Friday Drivetime show on talkRADIO, as well presenting from 10pm till 1 on Saturday nights and 7pm till 10 on Sundays.
Mark lives in Highgate, North London and is married with two sons. His hobbies are running, drinking tea and agreeing with his wife.
