Robert Newman has been writing and performing comedy for radio, television and stage since the late eighties.

He writes and performs regular BBC Radio 4 shows including: Rob Newman's Half Full Philosophy Hour; Total Eclipse of Descartes and The Entirely Accurate Encyclopaedia of Evolution, the latter two of which won the BBC Audio Drama Award for best comedy. He has also written four novels and two non-fiction books. Seventeen years ago he coined the phrase No Planet B, which has since entered the language.
